Are you going to be part of the cause, or are you going to be part of the solution? The reason why I ask this question is because many of us “Millennials” believe that we are part of the solution, too many of us “potentials to be” go to sleep believing that we are doing enough to help each other grow. What we do not realise is that because the masses ritualise mediocrity; the radicals are masked by this crowd. You see, being part of the cause means believing that you’re “on the right path” that “your ducks are in a row” and “it will happen”. But what is “it”? Where is your preparation? Where is your destination??
“Just because someone has said you are here and this can be your path, doesn’t mean that you must stay on that path. If you know your destination, you can get there in a million ways. If you believe in time then take the time, but if you want your respect to come in other ways than with time, then it can, and it will take a shorter amount of time.”
Someone I respect deeply shared this with me today; something simple but in its simplicity, so profound. I am a pro at “having ducks in a row”, I think I believe in the process a bit too much but my heart is the radical thinker and this is where I am challenged because although I know that I work hard and things will happen, I always feel like I am failing my heart. Somehow I have an impatient nature but when it comes to the process and my success, I can wait. Something is wrong here. Today I also realised that I am not the only “great” waiting on the process… waiting on time to make things happen in your career because that is how or what everyone else did before you. We are all greats and we are all set apart. There is more than enough space to be part of the solution because we all have different stories to tell- but tell me this: Do you want to tell one heck of a success story and change people’s lives or are you fine being the average statistic?
So I understand that sometimes this “staying motivated” thing gets hard and you’re all hyped up for two hours then you get back to your life and it’s like “bleh… at least I have the process to come through for me”. But I encourage us to try every day. Try to be infectious with your positive energy and relentlessness to pursue greatness! We are all destined for greatness. Zig Ziglar once said “You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win and expect to win”. Believe this and help others believe this. That is how you become part of the solution.
